General

Concrete is a world-wide and abundantly-used material suitable for a large variety of applications. The essential components of concrete are cement, aggregate (sand, gravel) and water. Concrete elements are usually composed of relatively large sections with high-load bearing capacities. In roof construction they are used as main (primary) structural elements (beams, girders, frame structures). Other materials are used for the finer structural parts (battens, etc.).
